The SIS 6 Plus Access Control System is an Internet Protocol Based Standalone Access Control System that is configured using windows software called AccessVantage.

AccessVantage allows Adding and Editing access control privlidges for card holders such as doors the user has access to, schedule times the user can access doors, Access Control Log Reports, and editing Automated Timers.

Logging in to Access Vantage


SIS Access Vantage User Log In Screen 1) Click on the "User name" field, type the name of the operator logging on,
2) Click on the "Login Password" field, and type the password assigned to the operator listed in the User Name field.
NOTE : Asterisks will appear in the password field instead of letters so as to prevent someone looking over your shoulder and learning your password.
3) If you do not wish to re-enter your user name and password details every time you open the Access Vantage Software, Check the Remember my login details.
4) Click on the [Log In] button to continue.

Logging off from Access Vantage


Whenever one operator replaces another operator, for instance during a shift change, the original operator should log off the system and allow the new operator to log on.
This provides for correct tracking of operator initiated events during the operator shift.
1) Click on the File -> Exit pull-down menu option.
The original operator is logged off the system and the Access Vantage Software will close.
2) Re-open the Access Vantage Software, and login using the required Username and Password.

The AccessVantage Menu Bar


The SIS AccessVantage Menu Bar There are nine menu options on the Access Vantage desktop
1) Edit Site - Allows editing specific information regarding the premises where the access control system is installed. Information includes address, primary contact name, phone and fax numbers.

2) Edit Users - Allows adding, editing, and removing access control users from the access control system. Specific user related access control settings such as user schedule, door permissions, as well as access control expiry date can all be changed using this menu option.

3) Edit Schedules - Allows adding, editing, and deleting user schedules for the access control system. Schedules are used to limit when a user is granted access to the system, such as during business hours.
Schedule information is edited using this menu. Once a schedule is added, users can be limited to an Access Control Schedule by using the “Edit User” menu option, selecting the required user, and selecting the newly entered Schedule group for the user.

4) Edit Panels - Allows changing Access Control Panel, and Access Control Door Information. This includes door lock latch times, door and panel names, and enabling / disabling access control doors within the system.
Note : It is recommended that this menu option is disabled for all users except the System Installer, as incorrect settings can disable the access control system functionality.

5) Export Log - This menu option allows managers and installers to display a detailed log of the access controls daily operation, including User Access granted / denied, system changes, alarm conditions, and date / time information for events.

6) Export Users - This menu option allows managers and installers to display a complete list of Access Control Users entered in the access control system. The log includes user names, as well as pin numbers, and proximity card numbers, and can be exported to pdf, word, excel, and rich text formats.

7) View Status - This function displays a live view of the access control systems status, including door open / close status, alarm conditions, and door strike status. Doors can be manually opened using this function.

8) Timer Events - Timer events can be used to automatically open selected doors during selected times and days. Timer events are typically used to allow public access during business or holiday hours, for certain access control areas.

9) Edit Holidays - Define what days of the week are to be used as weekend / Holidays, as well as adding future dates to be assigned as system holidays.

10) Edit Managers - This function allows the installer, and system managers to add , change, or remove users allowed to log in to the Access Vantage software. Installers and System Managers can limit menu options available for selected users by using this menu option.

Adding a New Access Control User


To create a new Access Control User called John Doe, conduct the following steps,
The SIS AccessVantage Edit User Form

1) Open and Log In to AccessVantage
2) Select the "Edit Users" menu option from the side menu bar.
3) The "Search Access Control Users" form will appear.
4) Click on the "New" button on the tool bar. This will allow you to create a new access control user.
5) The "Edit Access Control User" Form will now appear.
6) In the first Name field, select the title for the person we are adding to the system. For this example, select "Mr."
7) In the second Name field, enter the given name for the person we are adding to the system. For this example, enter "John"
8) In the third Name field, enter any middle names for the person we are adding to the system. For this example, leave this field blank.
9) In the fourth Name field, enter the surname or family name for the person we are adding to the system. For this example, enter "Doe"
10) In the fifth Name field, select the suffix name for the person we are adding to the system. For this example, leave this field blank.
11) The Display Name field should automatically display "Mr. John Doe". This is the name that will be displayed for reporting functions within the system.
12) In the Company field, enter the name of the company (Business Name) where the person is employed, for the person we are adding to the system. For this example, enter "Acme Manufacturing".
13) In the Department field, enter the name of the department, division, or business group, for the person we are adding to the system. For this example, enter "FUBAR Division".
14) The Prox Card field allows you to either manually enter the proximity card serial number, or swipe a new proximity card at a proximity card reader to enrol a new proximity card for this access control user.
To obtain the proximity card serial number from a prox card reader, simply swipe the card at the chosen reader, then click on the [Read Card From] button to retrieve the proximity card serial number.
15) The Valid To field allows you to limit access to the system, when the Valid To Date has elapsed. To set a Valid To Date (Access Expiry Date), simply tick the checkbox, and set the date in which access will no longer be permitted for this user.
In this example, "John Doe" has unlimited access to the system, therefore this function is not enabled.
16) In the Schedule field, select the access control schedule that this person will be limited to.
For unrestricted access, select "24 Hours, 7 Days Access".
In this example, because "John Doe" has unlimited access, select "24 Hours, 7 Days Access".
17) Finally, select the doors the current access control user has access to, by ticking the doors the user will have granted access to, and un-ticking the doors where access will be denied.
In this example, "John Doe" has unlimited access to the system, therefore all the configured doors should be ticked.
18) Click on the [SAVE] button to add the access control user "John Doe" to the system.

Editing an Existing Access Control User


To edit an existing Access Control User, conduct the following steps,

1) Open and Log In to AccessVantage
2) Select the "Edit Users" menu option from the side menu bar.
3) The "Search Access Control Users" form will appear.
4) Enter the Name of the person you wish to edit in the "Contact Name" field located on the left hand side of the "Search Access Control Users" form.
5) Click on the [SEARCH] button located on the left hand side of the "Search Access Control Users" form.
6) The system will now search for any contacts with a similar or exact name to the Contact Name entered.
7) Once the contact has been found, double click on the contact displayed in the list located on the right hand side of the "Search Access Control Users" form.
8) The Edit Access Control User form will now be displayed.

Edit Access Control User Fields


Name : The full name of the access control person that is being edited. This includes the persons title (Mr. Mrs. Ms. Dr. Etc), Given Names, Middle Names, Surnames and suffix titles.

Display Name : The name that is displayed for reports. This usually does not include middle names, and suffix names.

Company : Displays the business or company name that the selected access control user is employed by.

Department : Displays the department, division, or business group that the selected access control user belongs to, within the above company.

Prox Card : Displays the proximity card serial number for the proximity card issued to this access control user.
Pin Number : Displays the Person Identification number for the selected access control user.

Valid to Date : If enabled (checked) displays the date when this access control user will no longer have access to the system.
This field is useful for issuing proximity cards to temporary staff such as casual workers, and contractual workers.

Schedule : Displays the selected access control schedule for the current access control user.
The schedule limits the time periods that an access control user can access the selected doors.
Schedules can modified using the edit schedule menu option, within the Access Vantage main Window.

Doors this user has access to : Displays a list of doors configured within the access control system. Doors that the current access control user is able to use (access granted) are shown with a tick.
Access can be granted, or denied by simply ticking and un-ticking doors displayed in this panel.
