Arming the Panel


To Arm your system,
1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) You can choose an area you wish to arm by scrolling through the areas using the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons.
5) Once the required area is displayed, press the [ARM] button .
6) The keypad will display the arming progress for the selected area.

Disarming the Panel


To Disarm your system,
1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) You can choose an area you wish to disarm by scrolling through the areas using the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons.
5) Once the required area is displayed, press the [DISARM] button .
6) The keypad will display the disarm progress for the selected area.

Bypassing (Switching Off) Zones on Arming


Manual Bypass Programming allows you to program the alarm system to ignore (deactivate) specified zones the next time the system is armed.
For example, you may wish to bypass certain zones when workers are renovating part of your establishment.
Please note that a Fire Zone cannot be bypassed.

1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) You can choose an area you wish to force arm by scrolling through the areas using the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons.
5) Once the required area is displayed, press the [ARM] button .
6) The keypad will display any zones that are still open for the selected area.
7) Press the [BYPASS] button to bypass the selected zone.
8) If the remaining zones for the selected area are closed, the keypad will display the arm progress for the selected area.

Force Arming the alarm


Force arming allows you to rapidly arm the system without waiting for all zones in the system to close.
During Force arming, a Force zone is considered (deactivated) until it closes, after which the system will arm that zone.
Force arming is commonly used when a motion detector is protecting the area occupied by a keypad.
For example, when arming the system from within a Force zone, the system will allow you to arm even if the zone is open, and the system will arm the zone once it closes.

To Force Arm your system,
1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) You can choose an area you wish to force arm by scrolling through the areas using the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons.
5) Once the required area is displayed, press the [ARM] button .
6) The keypad will display any zones that are still open for the selected area.
7) Press the [FORCE] button to force arm the selected area.
8) The keypad will display the arm progress for the selected area.

Home (Stay) Arming the alarm


This method allows you to remain in the protected area while partially arming the system.
Stay zones are zones that are bypassed when Stay arming.
For example, when you go to sleep at night, doors and windows can be armed without arming other zones like motion detectors.

To Stay Arm your system,
1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) You can choose an area you wish to force arm by scrolling through the areas using the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons.
5) Once the required area is displayed, press the [STAY] button .
6) The keypad will display the stay arm progress for the selected area.

Viewing the Alarm Memory


If a zone has been triggered whilst the alarm system is in its Armed state,
the LCD will display a message, indicating that the alarm has been triggered.

To display the zones have been triggered,
1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) Press the [MENU] button (This looks like a stack of paper).
5) Press the [5] button.
6) Press the [1] button.
7) Using the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons, select an area you wish to view alarm memory information.
8) If alarm memory information exists for a zone, the keypad will beep, and will display the alarm memory message.
9) Press the [ENTER] button to display further information in regards to the alarm memory events for the selected area.
10) An alarm memory event can be acknowledged by pressing the [ENTER] button.
11) Further alarm memory events can be displayed by pressing the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons.
12) Once viewing the alarm memory information is complete, you can exit this function by pressing the [MENU] button.

Viewing User Codes


To View user access codes, you will first require the Master code.
1) Enter the master code. (Default code is 123456)
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) Press the [MENU] button (This looks like a stack of paper).
4) Press the [2] button.
5) Press the [1] button.
6) The keypad will prompt the user number to edit.
7) Enter the User Number you wish to view OR
Use the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons to scroll through a list of users entered in the system.
8) Press the [ENTER] button to select the required user.
9) This keypad will now display the current users user name.
10) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
11) The User Code (PIN) will now be displayed.
12) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
13) The Users Access Level will now be displayed.
14) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
15) The Areas assigned to the user will now be displayed.
16) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
17) The expiry date for the selected user will now be displayed.
18) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
19) The expiry time for the selected user will now be displayed.
20) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
21) The users facility ID (Proximity Card Site Code) will now be displayed.
22) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
23) The users Card Number (Proximity Card) will now be displayed.
24) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
25) The users Misc Options will now be displayed.
26) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
27) The users Special Options will now be displayed.
28) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.

Changing User Codes


To change user access codes, you will first require the Master code.
1) Enter the master code. (Default code is 123456)
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) Press the [MENU] button (This looks like a stack of paper).
4) Press the [2] button.
5) Press the [1] button.
6) The keypad will prompt the user number to edit.
7) Enter the User Number you wish to view OR
Use the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons to scroll through a list of users entered in the system.
8) Press the [ENTER] button to select the required user.
9) This keypad will now display the current users user name.
10) Use the keypad numbers to enter the username for the selected user.
11) The user name can be cleared using the [DISARM] button,
12) Once the username has been entered, press the [ENTER] button to continue.
13) The User Code (PIN) will now be displayed.
14) Enter a new user code for the selected user.
15) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
16) The Users Access Level will now be displayed.
17) Use the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons to set the required access level for the user.
18) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
19) The Areas assigned to the user will now be displayed.
20) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
21) The expiry date for the selected user will now be displayed.
22) Enter the date the user will no longer have access to the system.
23) To clear the date, press the [DISARM] button.
24) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
25) The expiry time for the selected user will now be displayed.
26) Enter the time the user will no longer have access to the system.
27) To clear the time, press the [DISARM] button.
28) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
29) The users facility ID (Proximity Card Site Code) will now be displayed.
30) Press the [FORCE] button and swipe a card to obtain the facility ID.
31) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
32) The users Card Number (Proximity Card) will now be displayed.
33) Press the [FORCE] button and swipe a card to obtain the Card Number.
34) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
35) The users Misc Options will now be displayed.
36) User options can be toggled by pressing the corresponding numbers on the keypad,
37) The following options are available,
1 - Show User Greeting on Login
The user will be shown a greeting message when they logon to the LCD keypad.
2 - Go Direct To Menu Display On Login
Normally a user will be shown the area status screen for the primary area assigned to the keypad.
Enabling this option will take the user to the main menu.
Set this option for users that have no area control functions.
3 - User Can Acknowledge Memory
User is able to press the [ENTER] button to acknowledge memory
4 - Show User Memory On Login
The user will be shown the alarm memory when they logon.
5 - Disarm Primary Area On Login
When enabled the user only needs to enter their user code and press the [ENTER] button.
If the primary area for the keypad is armed it will be disarmed.
6 - Disarm User Area On Login
Operating the same as option five however the area assigned in the users area location will be disarmed if it is armed.
7 - User Can Acknowledge Trouble Message
When enabled this option will give the user permission to acknowledge trouble conditions in the system when the require trouble acknowledgement is enabled.
8 - User Can Acknowledge SYSTEM Trouble Message
This option operates the same as option seven however allows a user to acknowledge system trouble conditions.

38) Press the [ENTER] button to continue.
39) The users Special Options will now be displayed.
40) User options can be toggled by pressing the corresponding numbers on the keypad,
41) The following options are available,
1 - Users Area Configured As Area Group
This option will allow a users area to be programmed as a group providing the ability to control multiple user areas.
3 - User Is A Super User
Setting the super user option gives the user a privileged status allowing them to override anti-pass back and other settings that will prevent normal access.
4 - User Can Modify their own code
When Enabled this option will allow a user to modify their own code.
The user must also be given access to the user menu.
6 - User Is Calculated With Loiter Area
When Enabled the user is defined as being a loiter user and will be included in the loiter area calculation.
7 - User Enabled To Remote Logon
When Enabled the user code can be used as an increased security measure to validate a remote logon from the Protege System Management Suite.
8 - User Enabled As Duress Code User
When enabled the user code when entered will generate a duress code / alarm.

The Chime Zone function is not available on the ICT Protege System.

Alarm Trouble Codes


If a system fault has been detected, the Trouble LED will illuminate on the keypad.
To display trouble codes, 1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) Press the [MENU] button (This looks like a stack of paper).
5) Press the [5] button.
6) Press the [2] button.
7) The first system trouble code (If any) will be displayed on the keypad.
8) Press the [ENTER] button to acknowledge the system trouble code.
9) You can use the [UP] and [DOWN] arrow buttons to scroll through any further system trouble codes.
10) Press the [MENU] button to exit.

Setting the time


If the alarm panel has lost power, it may require the system time and date to be set.
1) Enter a valid user code.
2) Press the [ENTER] button.
3) The display will show the area status information for the area(s) allocated to the keypad.
4) Press the [MENU] button (This looks like a stack of paper).
5) Press the [6] button.
6) Press the [1] button.
7) The keypad will prompt you for the current time.
8) Enter the current Hour tens digit (Eg for 21:30, enter [2]),
9) Enter the current Hour ones digit (Eg for 21:30, enter [1]),
10) Enter the current Minute tens digit (Eg for 21:30, enter [3]),
11) Enter the current Minute ones digit (Eg for 21:30, enter [0]),
12) Press the [ENTER] button to continue,
13) The keypad will prompt you for the current date,
14) Enter the current Day tens digit (Eg for 26/Jul/2009, enter [2]),
15) Enter the current Day ones digit (Eg for 26/Jul/2009, enter [6]),
16) Enter the current Month tens digit (Eg for 26/Jul/2009, enter [0]),
17) Enter the current Month ones digit (Eg for 26/Jul/2009, enter [7]),
18) Enter the current Year tens digit (Eg for 26/Jul/2009, enter [0]),
19) Enter the current Year ones digit (Eg for 26/Jul/2009, enter [9]),
20) Press the [ENTER] button to continue,
21) The keypad will prompt you for the current day of the week,
22) Press the [1] button to scroll upwards through the days of the week,
22) Press the [3] button to scroll downwards through the days of the week,
23) Press the [ENTER] button to continue,
24) Press the [MENU] button to save changes made to the date and time.
